We’ve seen plenty of dual, triple, and quad-battery regulated mods, and even a convertible RX2/3 from Reuleaux that allows the use of two or three 18650 batteries. What’s left you ask?
Allow me to introduce the new SMOK GX2/4 box mod.
With the GX2/4 you can choose to run the mod with either two or four 18650 batteries. In the dual-cell mode the wattage output is capped at a respectable 220 watts. Still not impressed? Slap on the included expansion cover with two additional 18650 cells to unlock 350 watts of lung-searing vaping power.
Regardless of which mode you use the GX2/4 will accept up to a 25 mm atomizer (without overhand), and looks ergonomically designed with a side-fire key, easily accessible controls, and large 0.96” OLED screen. The screen displays tons of vaping data, including: VW/TC mode, wattage, working temperature, voltage, current, vaping effect, battery life, resistance, and puff counter.
The GX2/4 also supports temperature control using nickel, titanium, and stainless steel heating elements, though it is unclear if the mods features TCR.
With big power comes big responsibility, and SMOK thoughtfully incorporates multiple safeguards into the GX2/4 such as: intelligent atomizer recognition, 12-second cutoff, puff monitoring system, and low battery warning, along with short circuit and overheat protection.
The SMOK GX2/4 is available in gold/black, purple/black, silver/black, black/red, blue/black, red/black, and green/black.
The mod is available separately, or in a kit which includes a 5 mL Big Baby Beast sub-ohm tank. SMOK is also offering an EU compliant kit with a 2 mL Big Baby Beast.
Retail price on the kit is $119.95 or $94.95 for just the mod. I found the kit for 100 bucks and the mod for 75 bucks online.
